Roderick Vella is the Executive Head Chef of Marriott Hotels Malta. With his infectious enthusiasm and eye for detail, he creates some of the most sophisticated dishes that can be enjoyed at Atrio, alongside leading the kitchen staff.
Prior to this exciting venture at Marriott Hotels Malta, Chef Roderick has continuously worked towards perfecting his craft in several highly acclaimed 5-star hotels across the island. Adding to this, he also had his own restaurant for a couple of years and has also spent some time in Italy to learn all there is to know about the techniques and processes used in artisanal cheese-making and cured meats.
Chef Roderick explains that all dishes created for Atrio are made with love. Everything is prepared in-house, using genuine local produce and the freshest of ingredients. When asked about Atrio’s must-try flavourful dishes, Chef Roderick says, “I am very passionate about local pork so the menu includes a range of pork dishes such as homemade sausages, cured local pork products and other local pork dishes.”
