Commemorative Independence Day Banquet at the Phoenicia Ballroom on Friday 20th September
Sixty years ago, on the eve of Independence Day 1964, the Royal Party, Prime Minister, and other dignitaries attended a State Banquet at The Phoenicia Malta’s Grand Ballroom before making their way to the Independence Arena in Floriana for the Flag Raising Ceremony. In order to commemorate this special occasion, The Phoenicia Malta will be recreating this banquet.
Join in an unforgettable and exclusive evening as the grandeur of Malta’s Independence Eve State Banquet from 1964 is recreated. Experience the same exquisite menu—recreated by talented chefs—served to dignitaries and the late Duke of Edinburgh, in the iconic Grand Ballroom. With a display of memorabilia and a chance to connect with key figures, this historic event celebrates Malta’s journey over the past six decades.
The evening will commence with a Welcome Drinks Reception in the Maryanski Porch, followed by a four-course meal paired with fine wines in the Grand Ballroom—a venue that has been a witness to countless significant occasions in Malta’s history.
