The Sixth Leaf
The Sixth Leaf is the gastronomic brainchild of Waleed and Penka — two talented and creative chefs who have decided to break free of their culinary comfort zone. With its characteristic farmhouse atmosphere, rustic furnishings and cosy ambience, The Sixth Leaf feels immediately welcoming, offering the perfect setting for a relaxed dining experience. The décor is simple yet stylish with an understated elegance. Al fresco dining is also a great option, with the surrounding trees keeping the air pleasantly crisp.
Waleed’s and Penka’s creations are vibrant with the natural colours of fresh ingredients, and plated with mastery and air. The vegan options will delight even people who don’t embrace that lifestyle. There are also plenty of delectable meat-based options. The asparagus panna cotta — with a slightly-smoked Hollandaise sauce, cheesy tuile and marinated truffle slices — is almost too gorgeous to break into. Wild mushroom croquettes with handmade saffron mayonnaise and pickled radish offer a lovely interplay of textures and tastes. From the mains, try the slow-cooked preserved lemon and harissa tagine, or the pomme de terre pavé, cooked for 3 hours and finished with pecorino cheese and truffle carpaccio. to conclude Penka’s vegan and gluten-free snickers mousse with layers of chocolate ganache, roasted peanuts and caramel cream, topped with whipped cream and honeycomb will leave you speechless.
