Lumi Launches a New Sunday Brunch Concept

Lumi Launches a New Sunday Brunch Concept

From 1st March 2026, Lumi will introduce a new Sunday brunch concept designed for slow mornings, long conversations, and food meant to be shared. Moving away from rigid brunch formats, the restaurant’s latest offering focuses on ease, flexibility, and a sense of togetherness that fits naturally into the rhythm of a Sunday.

The brunch experience unfolds in an unhurried sequence. It begins with shared, family-style starters, inviting guests to settle in and enjoy the table together. This is followed by an individually served signature dish, an egg Benedict twist with beef flank. The meal then returns to a sharing format for the main course, accompanied by a selection of sides.

The Creation of Sunday Brunch concept

According to Cluster Executive Chef Claudio Farrugia, the goal was to create a brunch that feels generous without feeling overthought. “Sunday brunch shouldn’t feel structured or rushed,” he says. “We wanted something that flows naturally — food that’s comforting, fresh, and easy to enjoy with the people you’re with.”

That idea of flow was central to the kitchen’s approach. As voco Chef de Cuisine Jake Mangani explains, the focus was on simplicity and balance. “We wanted dishes that feel familiar but still thoughtful,” he says. “Food that makes sense for a Sunday, where you’re sharing plates, talking, and taking your time.”

Behind the scenes, collaboration played a key role. Cluster Executive Sous Chef Wayne Ebejer notes that the concept was shaped by collective effort. “The whole kitchen team really poured their heart and soul into this,” he adds. “We focused on honest flavours and dishes that are made for sharing. That teamwork is something guests will feel when everything arrives at the table.”

Dessert Buffet

Dessert is treated with the same relaxed mindset. Rather than a plated course, guests are invited to choose freely from a dessert buffet, returning as often as they like. For Cluster Executive Pastry Chef Pierre Debono, the format reflects how people genuinely want to enjoy sweets on a Sunday. “People want choice,” he says. “Some want a little of everything, others just one favourite. My team and I put a lot of ourselves into creating desserts that feel playful, comforting, and a little indulgent. The buffet makes it more relaxed — it takes the pressure out of dessert.”

Chefs’ Specials

Adding another layer to the experience is Lumi’s gourmet trolley, featuring rotating chefs’ creative weekly specials available as optional add-ons, charged per item. The trolley gives the culinary team space to highlight seasonal ideas and limited dishes, while allowing guests to personalise their brunch.

Your Sundays Just Got Better

Designed for friends catching up, families spending time together, or anyone looking to ease into the day, Lumi’s Sunday brunch is intended to become a regular habit rather than a one-off occasion. As Farrugia puts it, “It’s about enjoying the moment. Sundays are for slowing down — and the food should reflect that.”

Launching on 1st March 2026, Sunday brunch at Lumi offers a laid-back yet thoughtful take on weekend dining, centred on sharing, choice, and taking your time.

Located on the terrace of voco Hotel in St. Julian’s, Lumi also provides beautiful views in addition to your new favourite Sunday meal.
