Malta Food Agency Announces Festa Ikel Malti – A National Celebration of Maltese Food and Culture
The Malta Food Agency announces the upcoming Festa Ikel Malti (Maltese Food Festival), which will take place on Sunday, 12 October 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This national event will bring together communities, families, and visitors to celebrate Malta’s rich culinary traditions and cultural heritage.
Following the resounding success of last year’s edition, which drew thousands of participants from across the island, this year’s festival is set to deliver an even more diverse and engaging programme. Festa Ikel Malti continues to serve as a platform where tradition, innovation, and community spirit converge.
At the centre of the festival will be Maltese food producers, presenting a wide array of traditional and contemporary products that reflect the island’s unique food heritage. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover authentic flavours, meet the people behind Malta’s food production, and gain deeper insights into the dedication and craft that underpin the sector.
The event will also include live cooking demonstrations led by expert chefs, showcasing the versatility of Maltese ingredients and the creativity that characterises the nation’s cuisine. These interactive sessions are designed to engage audiences while highlighting the growing recognition of Malta’s culinary identity.
In addition to its gastronomic focus, Festa Ikel Malti will feature a full programme of cultural performances and entertainment. Traditional dancing, live music, and performing arts will celebrate Malta’s cultural landscape, ensuring an inclusive experience for attendees of all ages. The festival will also highlight the contribution of local organisations whose work supports community life and national identity.
Entrance to the festival is free of charge. For ease of access, a park-and-ride service will be provided from the Farmers Market.
The Malta Food Agency invites the public to join this national celebration of taste and tradition on Sunday, 12 October, at Festa Ikel Malti.
