Cheeky Monkey has now expanded with a branch in the busy dining hub of Valletta’s Merchant Street. Offering a relaxed and fun environment, the majority of tables are street-side with a small and cosy interior available. The central bar serves a delightful array of fancy cocktails, wines, and spirits to a trendy crowd of hipsters enjoying nibbles and bites from the menu. A playful touch is the table for two with swings for seats, emphasising the fun nature of one of Malta’s favourite gastropubs. 

In line with its Latin American influence, the starters are generous and perfect for sharing. Tortillas with chili and melted cheese or marinated barbecued chicken are popular choices. The Stacked Potato Skins, stuffed with mature cheddar, bacon, and sour cream are a hit, but the Deep-Fried Brie with crunchy salad and cranberry is a must-try! For heartier appetites, there are various risotto and pasta dishes, but the standout options are the well-stacked burgers served with chips and salad, and they make this place a legend. Other featured mains include traditional British Fish & Chips and a superb Beef Tagliata with parmesan and rucola. Platters are also available for sharing, with the impressive Baboon offering a fantastic selection of meats and garlic bread. Don’t miss the Brownie for dessert.
