La Vida Bar De Tapas has fast become a happening place. Centrally located a stone’s throw from the Sliema seafront, it has views of the spectacular sea with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is small but spacious and well thought out, with big apertures and a busy open kitchen. Stainless steel tables, bar stools at the window, wood floors and framed pictures on the walls all contribute to an atmosphere that is lively, friendly and welcoming. Servers pass by regularly with a platter of chorizo on fire, sizzling and leaving a tantalising aroma in its wake.

La Vida offers an enticing assortment of tapas, wines and cocktails of Spanish and Latin American origin. The menu changes regularly according to what is in season, but a few favourites are always featured. Try the abundant, crunchy nachos to share, topped with either sour cream and chilli beef, or salsa and guacamole. Delicious tacos include pulled pork, fish, prawn and cauliflower bites, the mouthwatering jamon carved to order by the chef, the grilled pulpo (salty octopus), the ceviche of fish briefly marinated in lemon and lime, and the chicken arepa (gluten free pita made of fried corn flour dough and stuffed with chicken). Round it all off with churros served with dulce de leche and chocolate sauce, or a chocolate pot topped with a splash of olive oil and a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt!
