Lumi
Lumi is inspired by all things citrus; the décor, the tang of a sparkly cocktail to the translation of its name: ‘lemon’ in Maltese. Nestled in the recently opened voco hotel, the set-up is spacious and relaxed. Soak up the sun during the day or savour the twinkling lights of the neighbourhood in the evening. It’s clean and comfy, with well laid out pockets of tables separated by massive planters of lemon trees – a super spot for small, medium and large groups.
The sharing concept is in full force giving you the opportunity to sample a lot of what’s offered. The citrus theme entices you to try the Ginger & Lemon Fizz and a Skinny Margarita from their fabulous cocktail menu, whilst the Lemoncelloade made with home-made lemocello, honey, lemon juice and lemon soda is very refreshing. From the small plates menu, the pork belly is recommended; the innovative Ocean Breeze Tempura Taco with a Nori shell filled with tobanjan marinated salmon wakame, avocado and red masago is enticing. The sushi was fresh and inviting with traditional options such as California rolls as well as the Royal Volcano featuring salmon, tuna and crab all rolled in a sesame covered nori roll. Wood fired oven grills and poke bowl options as well as burgers round off the menu, along with fish and seafood options. GF and vegetarian choices are also abundantly available. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.
