Chophouse

An "exquisite" restaurant with "fabulous" food.

Location, it is said, is everything. An enchanting view is all you need to be a success story. But how can any food-lover settle for just a view? The chophouse ticks all the boxes – it offers location with unparalleled views plus food and ambience which outmatch the view. Parking is easy, the décor is minimalist enough to let the view and the meal take centre stage, service is upscale but not intrusive. The bar, the cooking area and the seating are tastefully lit in a subdued way. With well-spaced tables and soft, dim lighting, you can wander into the dining area without feeling overwhelmed.

Eating at The Chophouse is a true experience where the senses of sight, smell and especially taste, combine for a true feast. There isn’t an explosion of colours in the dining area except for some red glasses. This lets the food and drink do the shining. And shine they do. The menu and wine list are extensive yet manageable. Chophouse is a meatlovers’ dream yet still caters for vegetarians’ and vegans’ wishes and whims. The Grilled Argentinian beef sirloin is a real delight. For starters the carrot and miso custard, the Jerusalem artichoke risotto, and the linguine allo scoglio stand out and for sweets, the pineapple tarte tatin adds some beautiful flavour to the end of the meal. Location, location, location and food, food, food.
