The Tabloid
The Tabloid restaurant is located inside the luxury 5-star AX The Palace Hotel in High Street, Sliema. Just a stone’s throw away from the historical Our Lady of Divine Graces chapel, it has spacious, secluded outdoor seating. The indoor seating is also comfortably spaced out allowing for some privacy. Decorated in modern minimalist reds and black, it has two lovely enormous lampshades overlooking the large hall and mirrors and patterned plates adorning the walls. This is the hotel’s dining area, open to residents and non-residents alike. It is very popular with the locals and for group events so booking is always advisable, especially on Saturdays!
The Tabloid is a buffet restaurant. Buffets are themed and change daily: Mediterranean, Maltese, International, Italian, Lebanese, Greek, Roast and Relish, and Asian. There is sumptuous pasta whirled around in a parmesan wheel and mussels cooked on the spot! Choose from many antipasti like Calamari and Stuffed Peppers then try soups of the day such as Creamed Spinach and Feta Soup or Seafood in Broth from the soup station. For mains there is a line-up of chafing dishes just waiting to be explored! From fish to meat to vegetarian options, each item is carefully explained on a little label. Next try the spread of cheeses and variety of desserts. The buffet also includes half a bottle of wine and water per person.
