Valletta Local Food Festival 2025: Dates, Location, and What to Expect
The Valletta Local Food Festival returns for its fourth edition from 4 to 6 July 2025. The event will take place at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, from 7:00 PM to midnight each evening. Admission is free.
Organised by the Malta Food Agency in collaboration with the Valletta Cultural Agency, the festival promotes Maltese cuisine and local food traditions.
Visitors can expect over 25 stalls featuring a wide range of food prepared by local chefs, farmers, and small producers. Traditional dishes such as ġbejniet, bigilla, ħobż biż-żejt, snails, ftira, and tamal pies will be available, along with desserts like fig sweets and kannoli. Many of the dishes will highlight locally sourced ingredients and family recipes.
Live cooking demonstrations by Chef Charles Bone will take place throughout the event, focusing on sustainable seafood and traditional techniques.
There will also be live music performances each night to accompany the food offerings, creating a relaxed and festive atmosphere for families, locals, and visitors.
The Valletta Local Food Festival offers an opportunity to enjoy Maltese culinary culture in a scenic setting overlooking the Grand Harbour.
