Manakis Greek Taverna

"Exceptional mezze" and "a serene setting by the sea".

The seductive flavours of the Levant can be tasted again along the seashore in picturesque Spinola Bay in St Julian’s. Its pretty terrace and warm interior have been bustling with happy customers feasting on the myriad of dishes spread across its wooden tables: hummus, tzatziki, taramasalata, keftedes, flaming feta saganaki, sheftalies, souvlaki, spanakopita and so many more. Greek food oozes the flavours of the Levant with its diverse use of spices, herbs and fragrant oils. Every ingredient is sourced with care, and several are brought regularly from across the Mediterranean. This also goes for Ouzo and Mastika, of which there is a good choice, these are also sourced directly.

A generous tasting menu comprising several different dishes, such as a meat main course platter and the decadent tahini crème brûlée, is a perfect introduction for the less familiar Greek-eater. Prices are reasonable, the service couldn’t be friendlier, and the location and ambience are more ideal than ever, making it a vibrant spot for both casual meals and leisurely evenings.
