Traditionalists will be delighted to find faithful Indian dishes as well as some surprising new options. Try the Tomato Sorba with fresh tomatoes flavoured with garlic, ginger, coriander, and Indian spices, or the Onion Bhaji – a crispy, deep-fried onion mix. They also have a special vegan menu with plenty of options. The tandoor selection features Chicken Tikka – chicken pieces marinated in yoghurt and herbs. The Beef Madras – beef cooked in fresh coconut and tangy spices – is also a delicious option. Naan bread, a choice of rice sides and roti are all fresh and tasty. There’s a great cocktail selection including Mumbai mango mojito, Shakinah’s signature masala sour and a well-curated wine list. Shakinah’s passion for flavour is not to be missed.
