Ta’ Philip

A "gem in gozo", with a "traditional menu with a modern twist".

Nestled in Ghajnsielem, just a stone’s throw away from the Gozo Channel, Ta’ Philip is a true gem. Philip, the owner, has garnered decades of experience in the catering industry, and this shows in the way he captains his ship with ease. The ambience at Ta’ Philip is elegant whilst not being intimidating, a place you can feel comfortable going for a light meal or a romantic date night. The tables are aptly spaced, giving you plenty of privacy to enjoy your mela in peace.

The food itself is delightful. The smoked duck, served with honey, sesame seeds and ginger dressing, will melt in your mouth with a burst of flavour. The parmigiana (with a twist) is also a favourite amongst many – the perfect ratio of aubergine to Gozo sheep cheese. Ta’ Philip’s pasta is also a wonderful option, with selections such as the homemade ravioli and the spaghetti rabbit. As for mains, the locally farmed suckling pic, braised and slow roasted in a wood burning oven, is heavenly, and the zucchini stuffed with mined beef and pork, and topped with parmigiano, will have you wishing you had room in your belly for more. Be sure to end your meal by asking the waiter for the desserts of the day – you will not be disappointed!
