AZAR

Azar is Persian for ‘fire’ which evokes thoughts of cooking on an open fire, grilling and smoking; a perfect fit seeing as the Azar team is passionate about cooking with flame. Entering through a humble guesthouse, the spacious restaurant takes you by surprise. It is welcoming and minimalist with large tables comfortably separated from other diners. Alcoves line one side of the room, giving select tables even more privacy. An open kitchen invites a sneak peek at the wonders being created inside, soon to be plated with skill and dexterity. At the back, far from traffic, Azar also boasts a cosy outdoor dining area with luscious plants.

Azar serves stunning original creations. Start off with home baked crunchy fennel bread with homemade bigilla. Then, try the Creamy Mussel Risotto with lemon, chorizo and pistacchio or the Silky Prawn Chowder poured into your bowl with a flourish at your table. Savour the melt in your mouth signature Smoked Brisket with spiced relish or the Tender Duo of Lamb with Whipped Chevre and sides of flavourful sweet potato mash. An innovative tangy cocktail or a glass of wine should accompany your meal. For dessert, enjoy the delectable White Chocolate Mousse topped with prickly pear or the sinful Dulce de Leche Pannacotta crowned with a honeycomb trellis, after witnessing the Dulce the Leche being poured expertly through the trellis into the oozing centre of the dessert.
