Level Nine

Patrons agree that it is an "amazing experience", with "very tasty and incredible food".

Situated on the rooftop of the new extension to the Grand Hotel, Level Nine’s elevated position provides diners with incredible vistas over Mgarr harbour and the Gozo channel. Soak in the views with a cocktail or aperol on the terrace (17.00 – 19.30) before savouring the fine dining menu, served alfresco or in the plush and intimate modern lounge. The restaurant accepts a maximum of just 40 diners, allowing maitre d’ Simone Cassago and his welcoming front of house team to offer slick and attentive service.

The professional waiters introduce each dish as it is served and are able to guide you through the menu and make wine pairing suggestions. Head Chef, Oliver Glowig, has won Michelin Stars in Munich, Capri and Rome for his Italian inspired cuisine. For Level Nine, he has developed a tasting menu (5 or 7 courses) plus a small additional à La Carte menu of Antipasti, Primi and Secondi dishes and desserts. Beautifully plated meals combine high quality local ingredients with handpicked Italian wines, cheeses, olive oil, and other seasonal specialities often unique to the Maltese market. Options include sliced veal tenderloin, fusilloni pasta with scorpionfish, grilled bluefin tuna, and beef fillet with foie gras. Although the flavours are predominately Italian, expect to have your senses and tastebuds challenged by some playful amuse-bouche and pre-desserts with highly inventive flavour combinations.
