A "little gem in Gozo" that makes for an "absolutely amazing experience".

OSTERIA SCOTTADITO is a cosy, family-run Italian restaurant that’s full of charm and homemade goodness. The spacious restaurant is designed to make you feel like you’ve stepped into an Italian family home, with furniture from the owner Emanuele’s old family sitting room. His grandfather’s old motorbike stands at attention, and an old slicer takes pride of place near the kitchen.

Once you’re seated, you’ll be shown a menu that’s teeming with seasonal options. The concept is traditional Italian food infused with Mediterranean ingredients. For starters, the fried stuffed olives are a delightful choice, with each bite resulting in a burst of different flavours that blend together seamlessly. The calamari fritti are also delicious and beautifully plated, with tartar sauce on the side. They also have a great pasta selection, with classics such as carbonara and amatriciana that are to die for. As for mains, a vast selection of meats will ensure you find something to suit your fancy. The filetto di manzo, marinated with sea salt and rosemary, is a fantastic choice. Moreover, the galletto alla diavola – slow sous-vide cooked chicken with chilly, paprika and cayenne pepper sauce – will make you want to order a second helping (if only you weren’t so full!). Leave some room for dessert, and you will definitely walk out content and satisfied.
