The Phoenix
The Phoenix Restaurant is located within The Phoenicia Hotel, which is located a minute away from Valletta’s City Gate. Built shortly after the war by Lady Margaret Strickland, whose portrait hangs in the lobby, this revered hotel still retains its core identity, very much reminiscent of the colonial era.
The Phoenix is the principal restaurant within the hotel. Elegant, stately and atmospheric, the restaurant’s chic colonial décor carries a hint of Singapore’s Raffles, particularly evident in the old iconic wooden ceiling fans, enormous glass vases filled with ferns and ornamental decorative chandeliers. Leading off the dining room is a fashionable spacious terrace for el fresco dining with a sweeping view of Sliema and beyond. The elegance of the restaurant’s ambiance is complemented by a fine à la carte menu which offers a select variety of exquisitely presented Mediterranean and European classic dishes for both lunch and dinner, a buffet breakfast and a special events menu. Service is excellent with personal and courteous attention by all the staff.
