The Aft Galley
When Emirates cabin crew open a restaurant, you just know that it’s going to be first class all the way! The result is The Aft Galley; a Lebanese restaurant that takes authentic food and service to the ultimate level. A modern slender space with an outdoor covered terrace and a small front garden, the ambience is relaxed and comforting. Tasting menus are available with free flowing wine or select from the menu with expert advice and suggestions on hand from affable hosts Hayley and Joseph who will ensure a most excellent experience.
One could start with a wide range of hot & cold mezze, or just keep it tapas style. Hummus with various garnishes of sirloin steak and sundried tomatoes are a great choice. Add a sambousek of homemade bread with aromatic Lebanese thyme and pine nuts. The spicy chicken wings are a definite hit but just make sure you try the lamb shank house special, slow cooked and served with couscous salad – utterly divine. The vegetarian moussaka, slowly simmered with tomato, garlic and cumin can be pimped up with freshly ground beef. Daily desserts are unique. If you’re lucky, try the helwa tat- tork (with homemade ice-cream) – totally fantastic. A great international wine selection featuring some exquisite Lebanese vintages. Try the Ixsir altitudes (2018) from mount Lebanon, it’s exceptional.
The Aft Galley opens outside its usual hours for groups of more than 15.
