Chophouse

Patrons say "the food is mouthwatering" and they have a "good selection of wines".

Location, it is said, is everything. An enchanting view is all you need to be a success story. But how can any food-lover settle for just a view? The chophouse ticks all the boxes – it offers location with unparalleled views plus food and ambience which outmatch the view. Parking is easy, the décor is minimalist enough to let the view and the meal take centre stage, service is upscale but not intrusive. The bar, the cooking area and the seating are tastefully lit in a subdued way. Because the tables are not crammed, and the lighting dim, you wander into the dining area without feeling overawed.

Eating at The Chophouse is a true experience where the senses of sight, smell and especially taste, combine for a true feast. There isn’t an explosion of colours in the dining area except for some red glasses. This lets the food and drink do the shining. And shine they do. The menu and wine list are extensive yet manageable. Chophouse is a meat-lovers’ dream yet still caters for vegetarians’ and vegans’ wishes and whims. The USDA Beef Flank is a real delight. For starters the Smoked Pork Belly, the steak tartare, and the risotto Avjar stand out and for sweets, the White Chocolate Crumchoux adds some beautiful flavour to the end of the meal. Location, location, location and food, food, food.
