Bacchus is a delightful journey into the past. As you make your way through the grand, old, silent city of Mdina, a little alley will bring you to the beautiful, solid stone walls of Bacchus, built centuries ago. Bacchus boasts indoor and outdoor seating areas, a private secret garden, a stately hall and a large garden. This is the legacy of owner and long-standing managing director Mario Vella Gatt, who ran the restaurant for 45 years prior to passing away. It is now carried on by his family and loyal staff.

Bacchus serves Mediterranean cuisine with a special focus on traditional Maltese dishes featuring seasonal local produce. Taste the pasta with 30-hour brisket ragu and goat cheese fondue, or savour the Irish beef fillet with pomme anna, mushroom purée, baby veg and crispy onions. Bacchus also serves a large variety of risotto dishes. For dessert, try the chocolate, raspberry, caramel & ricotta delight.
