Maggie’s
Maggie’s is your friendly, delicious neighbourhood restaurant with regular patrons. The owner likes to call the experience ‘elegant dining’ – a term he uses to describe the fine food with stunning presentation in beautiful crockery served in an ambience which is relaxed and laid back with upbeat contemporary music playing in the background. The restaurant is named after his dear Pomeranian, Maggie, whose portrait is proudly showcased right opposite the entrance, alongside many other works of art by local artist Alexia Coppini which are available for sale. You can sit outside in the greenery and enjoy the view of the sea opposite or inside where there is an open kitchen and a well-stocked bar.
Maggie’s boasts a varied and original menu with daily specials updated regularly. Firstly, compliments of the chef, an amuse bouche – a morsel of portobello mushroom wrapped in fluffy pastry and balanced on a dollop of mascarpone. Try the paper-thin beef and aubergine carpaccio ornately plated in the shape of a rare flower with creamy celeriac at the centre or the crunchy, tasty prawn tempura with avocado purée and aioli. enjoy giant prawns grilled to perfection or succulent tender scallops. Indulge in the chorizo and prawn paccheri with a parmesan crisp and asparagus or savour tender melt in your mouth lamb fillet but try to save some space for oozing pistachio fondant or coco espresso martini.
