Ta’ Rozi Restaurant

A "lovely restaurant" with "delicious food".

A few metres across from the St Paul’s promenade rises a small hill featuring a small, quaint pjazza (square). A church dominates the area giving the whole space a feeling of peace. Tucked away in this square is Ta’Rożi, a cosy restaurant which offers fragrant, choice dishes with a good selection of fish. Being so close to the sea, Ta’Rożi is aptly designed to remind diners of all things connected to the sea. The small outside area is well secluded and provides comfortable seating. Inside diners can enjoy a beautiful display of the fresh fish of the day. At the furthermost end of the restaurant, the chef and his team work their wonders in the sparkling but busy kitchen.

The food is appetising and comes in generous portions. The Rabbit Liver, the Linguine Carciofi (pasta with artichoke hearts), the Goat’s Cheese Panna Cotta, and the Aljotta (fish soup) are stand-out starter items. For mains the catch of the day is a must-try, perfectly cooked. It exudes all the freshness and aromas of the sea. If ordererd al sale (cooked in a casing of salt) you get it theatrically presented, flamed, de-salted and filleted right next to your table. The Lamb Shank is another pick off the menu. To finish off, try the Maltese-style desserts – they will remain etched in your sweet memory for a long time.
