The Avenue is a family-run staple on the Malta restaurant scene. It is a busy bustling hive of activity now located in their brand new state of the art premises in Portomaso, St Julian’s. With a large bar in the centre of the restaurant, temperature-controlled wine cabinets and a long open kitchen, all food and drinks are prepared in full view of the satisfied and loyal guests dining to their heart’s content. Music plays gently in the background, barely audible above the excited chatter and large screen TVs scattered around; silently broadcasting the current sports events. Three sides of the restaurant are encased in glass casting plenty of natural light on the modern décor with seating on undulating sofas and a variety of chairs, indoors and out.
The Avenue serves a vast selection of different dishes and generous portions of hearty food. Start off with delectable fresh mussels cooked in white wine broth and dip in the fresh hot bread buns. Savour a salmon and beetroot ceviche with tangy ginger, wakame and chili. Next dig into the incredible beef Wellington, a divine house speciality at The Avenue and in hot demand! Try the tagliatelle alla crema di noci with ham and pistacchio; al dente and so creamy and tasty. For desserts you will be spoilt for choice: choose from the extensive display. Experience a fabulous homemade tiramisu or a gooey homemade banoffee.
