Bistro 516 is located on the Valletta waterfront commanding a splendid view of the spectacular Grand Harbour with cruise liners passing by. Sit outside under the newly installed canopies and enjoy the scene and the sound of the sea or in rare inclement weather appreciate the interior of the restaurant in an age-old cavernous stone vault with high arched ceilings. The large open kitchen is mesmerizing to watch, and the well-stocked bar is busy with divine frozen cocktails being crafted or your favourite bottle of wine being prepared for you. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back with a couple of TVs and music playing in the background.
Bistro 516 is passionate about taking serious care of patron’s food allergies with gluten-free being its forte. Breads are baked in-house and pasta is handcrafted. Start off your meal with sizzling beef liver cooked with onions and green peppers or try homemade rosette pasta rolls with mortadella, fresh cream and pistachio; drenched in white sauce. Next, try tagliata, crispy on the outside and oh so tender on the inside! Indulge in the house special chicken due gusti: choose two sauces from sweet orange, mushroom cream, pepper or bbq and indulge in fried battered chicken drowned in each sauce, accompanied by rice or couscous. Top it all off with decadent cherry cheesecake, a wedge of Baci cake or traditional mama’s cake.
