New to the Guide this year, Ventuno has recently had a refurbishment and taken on a fresh, modern sense of style and elegance. The restaurant stretches within metres of the Għadira shoreline and serves the best and freshest seafood available. The upper lounge restaurant is low lit and stylish with a huge outdoor shaded terrace overlooking Mellieħa’s stunning bay and crystal waters, creating an extremely comfy environment. The staff are superbly attentive whilst the kitchen and bar work together in tandem to supply sublime dishes and cocktails that uniquely harmonise.
The menu centres on a wide variety of the freshest fish and crustaceans. Mussels cooked in white wine are an excellent starter, and the creamy Burratina with crunchy sourdough toast is highly recommended. Other favorites include a Beef Tartare with a beautifully crafted squid ink tuille and the Calamari with Chive Mayo is fantastic. Main courses continue the oceanic fare. The hugely popular Lobster Linguine is legendary, a masterpiece for any diner. Or choose from the daily catch and have it prepared and filleted at the table. Other dishes include pizza and focaccia with toppings and smoky flavours of the Mediterranean. Fresh cuts of meats include the Pan Seared Duck Breast or Duo of Lamb, all served with optional fresh garden vegetables, crunchy salads and crispy potatoes. The puddings are exquisitely crafted; try the Pumpkin Cheesecake that comes with a paired cocktail – divine.
